Tree in a Pot
  • Tree in a Pot

    Blended between Columbia, Brazil and Mexico, Tree in a Pot is our house blend and used for most Espresso and Drip coffees.

    Learn about the blends below;

    Columbia

    This profile is more toward toffee sweetness, lemon acidity, and smooth mouthfeel than the punchier fruit-forward lots of Cauca or Nariño. These coffees tend to be perfect “breakfast blend” types, versatile and interesting without being too challenging to the palate.

    Cupping: Juicy and sweet with tart, tangy acidity, caramel and green grape flavors with an almond aftertaste.

    Mexico

    Mexico's bean are grown in the buffer zone of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, which is in the highlands of the Sierra Madre. it is one of the most diverse forest reserve areas in the world and contains Mesoamerica's largest cloud forest, as well as a protected natural environment for thousands of plant and animal species. All of the coffee produced here is shade-grown.

    Cupping: Mellow and Citric with almond flavor

    BRAZIL

    Sisters Maria Valéria and Maria Rogéria own the 90-acre farm known as Irmãs Pereira Estate (which means "Pereira Sisters," a fitting name), which they inherited from their parents, who bought the property (then called Fazenda Serrado) in the 1970s. Maria Valéria and Maria Rogéria helped on the farm from the time they were both very young, and when they both got married, their husbands joined them in taking on the farm management. They process coffee many different ways including Naturals and even Honey process. All of their coffee is dried on raised beds or on patios.

    This lot is an anaerobic-environment fermented lot: The cherries are harvested, sorted, and then placed into sealed steel tanks to ferment before being removed and dried as Naturals.

    Cupping: Tart, winey acidity with sweet berry, toffee and chocolate flavors
